Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, television personality, philanthropist as well as the owner and publisher of The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece then moved to England when she was sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. First foreign-born graduate to serve as president in the prestigious debating group The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took on the role. Her popularity as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice portal that offered an honest assessment of the current state of the nation's politics. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna's celebrity status began in 2003, when she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall vote in order to replace the then governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as the most influential women in media gaining 12th position in the list. The same year Guardian included her in the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. made her the President of their media division in 2011 after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Though she was close with her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her life. In her early years she showed her leadership skills for which she's still known. She moved to England at 16, to pursue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate club. The third female president, and also the first foreigner she held the position of head of the Cambridge Union. In 1972, she earned an honorary degree in Economics. Following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic and a host on TV. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She began to write books with his guidance in editing.
