Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. She also is the founder of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Originating from Greece she moved to England when she was sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. At 21 she became president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student to do so. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she became the voice of Huffington Post. Arianna was able to attract many prominent contributors to share their views regarding politics and culture. Arianna was famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. She was also involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes named her the "most influential woman" in the media industry with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL, Inc. named her president of their media group in 2011, after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included additional AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos an advisor to management and journalist. She was extremely close to her father, but it was her relationship with her mother that shaped her. In her early years she showed her leadership skills that she is still known for. She moved to England at 16 to continue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college, she joined Cambridge Union's colleges debating societies, and eventually was its first female and foreign president. In 1972, she earned an education in Economics. In the years following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. Additionally, she starred with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
